The Open Championship returns to Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Hoylake this summer. This course was host to one of the greatest achievements in golfing history. In 1930, Bobby Jones won there at the Open Championship. He had already won the British Amateur at St. Andrews. He returned to the USA to win the US Open at Interlachen and the US Amateur at Merion. His two professional and two amateur major victories in 1930 is one of the greatest compilations of major victories in one season in the history of the game, along with Ben Hoganin 1953 when he won three majors, the Masters, US Open and the Open Championship and Tiger Woods in 2000 when he won three majors, the US Open, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship.
