The Outriders day that was... Day 10 Edition Wow!! Hard to believe 10 days ago we were playing for William Shatner!!! How time absolutely flied. We will be having a Stampede Week that was reflection posted sometime next week, but right now lets talk day 10!! Day 10 is always a super special day where no matter how tired you were day 1-9 you get a magic energy boost today! As a result we always seem to find new highs that not even we thought was possible. Our songs are always a bit cleaner, the dance moves more energetic and every aspect of our shows are maxed out. It is truly something you have to experience to understand, either way trust us there is no feeling like performing on day 10 and nothing more fun! We had some absolute mind blowing audience interactions today, one in particular made the entire bands jaws drop. In the middle of a set at the Big 4 fountain a young boy did a hand stand and walked on his hands all the way across the band. You could hear and feel the music stutter for a second as everyone was amazed at the kids acrobatics and momentarily forgot what was going on. So cool, it is not every day that the band gets that entertained by an audience member. Today was also Taras birthday and she was surprised with a box lucky charms with only the marshmallows. Is there anything better than that? The rhythms section busted out a couple new tunes between sets including an amazing version of Sweet Home Alabama. They probably dont get enough credit for all they do, as they play for the entire circuit. When the winds are walking to a different set its like a nice break and time to get water, meanwhile the rhythm section keeps on playing. A huge thanks from the entire band to Dallas, Joshua and Craig you truly are Stampede Champions! One of the highlights of day 10 is always our final joint Saddledome Steps with Calgary Stampede Showband It is always the loudest of the week and the biggest party. One of the most special moments comes when we give all the members who are aging out a shimmy to wear for the set. This is our way of saying thank-you for the huge contribution to the Stampede and welcoming them into the alumni community. The look on these members faces when an Outrider walks up to them with a shimmy is one of incredible joy and appreciation. This re-enforces for us why this is one of our greatest traditions! To all the age outs of Stampede Band thanks for everything and hopefully we sill see some of you at Outriders auditions in August. To finish up we want to say a huge thank-you to everyone who came and watched us this week. To the huge numbers of new followers on all our social media platforms and all our original followers Thank-you!! We made a huge effort to increase the amount and quality of our social media this week and you made it so worth while! We really hope you enjoyed it and pledge to keep it more active all year and be bigger then ever next Stampede!! To the families of our members thanks for letting us have your loved ones, your sacrifices are appreciated! You can have them back now. Lastly to our members you represented the Stampede and our city this week with such enthusiasm and energy!! You demonstrated the Western values of the Stampede at every turn and should be incredibly proud of everything you accomplished. We will be posting Stampede week photos throughout the summer as we work our way through the sheer volume of photos taken of us this week. Thanks everyone for a great day 10 and a Stampede week that reinforced that it is: The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!!!!!!!!!!!!
