The PJs are going to try to clean the top of the reentry vehicle tomorrow, so today they rigged the ropes that will be required to reach the top of the missile. They did this with a 30-foot (9-meter) carbon fiber pole to reach a flange on the silo door. The pole was not quite long enough to reach the door while standing on the level two platforms so one of the guys climbed up to a ledge on the level 1 platforms. Not to worry--he is secured by a tether. The trick in doing this was to lasso the flange while not banging the pole onto the missile.
