The Passion of Life Ride off on mythical quest to be whole and a loving person in a real world to the highest heavens and to test not only the furthest limits of the sea but the limits of love and life, genealogy and culture, tradition and religion. Here are some of the many moral philosophies that life may offer in living life to clench heaven. a. Enlighten Oneself with Certain Rules It is a very plain and elementary truth that the life, the fortune and the happiness of every one of us and more or less of those who are connected with us, do depend upon knowing something of enlightening oneself with certain rules. Everyone has stories to tell, principles and experiences where one gain lessons which later leads to a better sense of cherished Filipino family, of place and tradition which passed along are priceless gifts that slowly drifts away and should be recovered. One discovers and learned a lot inside and outside any community as years pass by. One realizes that enlightening oneself with certain rules is both a joyful and painful endeavor. Joyful when one saw little achievements being recognized and when assured of moving ahead. Blissful and carefree when with friends and enjoying just being together. Painful when things went wild and wrong choices of a teenage life are done. All these experiences are all learning moments of growing to maturity. As one move on with life and end the chapters to begin a new story to unfold, every choice is all up to one’s dream and making those dreams come true. “Dream big and accompany it with self-discipline and a lot of sacrifices.” There is no free lunch or ride to achieve one’s dream. Life is not a passage to instant gratification but a journey of discovering one’s chosen vocation. Life is kind to those who dream during the day with eyes wide open and is difficult to those who dream during the night and wake up and not wanting to work hard for it. Dreaming of a different future is the key to motivation, but it’s the determination and commitments to excellence which enable everyone to attain the success one seek. But always do the very best that one can in the things one does best and everyone will know, in one’s soul that oneself is the greatest success in the world scrambled with different kinds of rules. b. Ignore the Shadows in the Gray Matter Far reach the farthest sea, someone was born in an endless sky but to fly is so high for once someone has fallen in the depths. If the years of one’s heartbeat since one emerge from a mother’s womb to this world, have been adverse with victory and torn apart by range and fear then one should immediately terminate that miserable existence and commence the rebuilding of a new being filled with peace of mind. One may walk the narrow streets or rocky roads, have a silver spoon locked in chains of hard times, heavy load rolling on to bitter days of old and coldest nights, falling like a stone tied and bound the lonely roads that leads so far away from the distant light left behind the day, well, just go on. Feel every moment as one meet different people along the way, embrace the love and patience one offers but never be hindered with one’s own heart desires. Let one be free from the misfortunes in the past that hunts one’s present. Let it remain and reside in the mind but ignore the shadows in the gray matter. c. Xerox the Beyond of What One Perceives If pride made demons out of angels then there is no doubt that humility made angels out of demons. Darkness must be accepted. It is a part of every individual but don’t let it push each one farther in the darkness that might conquer the soul. Darkness may reign over one’s personality but there are certain things beyond just like turning demons to angels and angels into demons or that beyond the sacrifices one gave, lay the core of truth where no one could ever discover because of the lies that stayed behind. In an old Chinese story, fire and water are enemies; water turned himself into ice thinking, the harder the stronger, but fire just melted the ice anyway. Fire can burn whatever comes near it. It portrays strength, pride and enthusiasm but then fire is rather lonely, no one dares to be burn just to be with fire. Remember, if fire tries to burn oneself, pour fire a little water which will bring calmness and peace and also be reminded that no matter what fire portrays, it will still be the only way to light one’s way out in the dark through its radiance. Always record and present the things unseen by others with what one perceives. d. Engage Oneself with the Language of Intimacy There is a hidden wholeness at the heart of things. The hidden wholeness can only be discovered if one gets to the deepest level of things intimately and the language to get there is silence. Once in a while people are often times burdened with lot of things that goes around, no time for silence only rooms and chances for trying and trying. Did you ever wonder why one tried but failed along the way for one reason or another? Is it a sign of preparedness to face another challenge that one is to be weaned to let go, not to be children anymore and to manage one’s own life by oneself? Trying one’s best to take responsibility especially in one’s journey in whatever one becomes is out of one’s own doing but always take time for silence to intimately listen to oneself which will elevate and push oneself to a better understanding of one’s wholeness. e. Love Until it no Longer Hurts In love everyone is vulnerable. Everything is open laid bare, not only today but also the future. The anguish of letting go and letting be, in the midst of midnight feedings and juggling schedules with pink faced and clench fist are roots and wings of freedom to be everything humanly possible in a world of rapid change. Loving in the sense of preparedness with the things that goes with it will protect one from hurts and sores. Everyone is entitled to love but not to be hurt. Everyone should be reaching for a grasp to transcend the ancient realms of one’s gray matter of Love until it hurts into Love until it no longer hurts. IV. The Pillars of Decision Making Set everything not limiting it only to oneself. Have the attitude and character of not bearing a voice or a shadow of someone or oneself only but a person of one’s own putting into mind what has gone through from one’s age of reason till the present with the observance of every detail that life, law, nature and elders or everything under the sun bestowed as wisdom in times of decision making. Take all the lessons experiences has taught as ground and norm for one’s morality and ethics. Take it as a backbone for a road map of one’s life style and status not as logic.
