The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is accepting - TopicsExpress

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is accepting applications for railroad improvement projects through the Rail Transportation Assistance Program and will soon accept applications for rail project funding under the Rail Freight Assistance Programs. There are significant differences between the two programs, which can be viewed by clicking on the links below. However, in previous rounds of funding, each program has provided funds for the rehabilitation or extension of rail infrastructure. Funds have been provided both to railroads and to businesses served by rail, or desiring to be served by rail. More information may be obtained by clicking on the link below. The Bureau of Rail Freight, Ports and Waterways on behalf of Toby L. Fauver, ACIP, Deputy Secretary for Local and Area Transportation, would like to announce the opening of our grant application acceptance period. The 2013 Capital Budget Rail Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) will begin accepting applications on Monday, August 5, 2013 starting at 8am through Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:59am. The 2014 Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP) will begin accepting applications on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 8am through Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:59am. I have attached a copy of our grant programs brochure and our open application announcement for your information and use. Please feel free to distribute this information to qualified candidates.
