The Peoples Water Board Coalition, Michigan Welfare Rights Org, Moratorium NOW! Coalition, and Michigan Chapter of the National Action Network called a Press Conference to address shut offs, the water affordability plan, and to deliver over 90,000 signatures to Mayor Duggan and Gov Snyder via the Emergency Manager Orr on 8-28-14. A class action law suit was filed July 21, 2014 by Civil Rights lawyers in #Detroit. The Court will decide whether to grant a Temporary Restraining Order on September 2, 2014. The moratorium on water shut offs ended on August 25, 2014. Those same lawyers will ask the Court to reinstate the moratorium while the case is pending. They have the named plaintiffs.
