The People’s Democratic Party has released names of 13 candidates that will contest under the party banner in the September 17 elections. The candidates are activist Jone Baravilala, Lawyer Vijay Singh, Party President Lynda Tabuya, Party General Secretary Sat Narayan, former Civil Servant Peni Turaga, former MP Dr Emasi Qovu, former Party President Adi Sivia Qoro, Unionist Eroni Ratuwalesi, Advisory councilor Salochana Sharma, Youth Advocate Josiah Loloma, Fiji’s former Trade Representative to Taiwan Adi Varanisese Tavaiqia, Lololo Forest Director Ratu Iliesa Raseru and PDP Party Leader Felix Anthony. Anthony was supposed to announce 20 candidates today but only 13 was announced as the rest still have to be cleared from the police. The rest of the names will be announced in Nausori next week. Anthony has confirmed the PDP will 50 candidates for the elections.
