The Philippines is utterly devastated. Any major corporations the least involved with Disaster Management and our EM community must have assets which can be mobilized on short notice. The P.I. people are without power nationwide; food is tainted and no good, and medical and environmental needs are unspeakably ubiquitous. Looting is prevalent. The people are in shock and there are no roads, no communication, no sustenance of any kind, perhaps even challenging the spiritual. They cannot extricate themselves from this without help. American companies need to come forward and transport skills and materiel for every need irrespective of the cost without delay. Or perhaps a coalition of corporations to come together, each contributing their own brand of power plants, shelters, cellular towers, food or medicine and specialty skills. If the planes can even land. If not us, then who? Aircraft carriers can expedite via helo, but - more meaningful - for all of the postings appearing on many of our own DM/EM venues, now is the time to apply that knowledge and expertise, to mobilize assets and to make all the difference in their world.
