The Pike Central High School boys basketball team dropped a 54-42 loss to visiting Jasper on Saturday, Jan. 18. Freshman Colton White led the Chargers (4-5) with 12 points while senior Kegan Aldridge added eight points. Freshman Gabe Elliott, who scored seven points, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while senior Damon Schnarr came off the bench to dish out two assists. Freshman Tyler Nottingham paced Jasper (5-4) with 12 points while senior Courtland Betz and junior Austin Alles added nine points each. In the junior varsity game, sophomore Peyton Gentry scored 10 points while sophomores Hunter Gossett and Grant Thiel added eight points each as Jasper defeated Pike Central 41-16. Freshman Chase Davis led the Chargers with six points while sophomore Hunter Loveless added four points. Pike Central will return to action on Friday, Jan. 25, when the Chargers will host Washington. The junior varsity game will tip off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 8 p.m.
