++The Plain Truth about the Melchizadek Priesthood - By James Scott Trimm Original - nazarenespace/profiles/blogs/the-plain-truth-about-the-melchizadek-priesthood Or - ** The Convoluting Error about the Melkizedeq Priesthood - answers by Dr. David L. Perry ++ “”There is a false teaching that has been going around for some time now, that there is a Melchizadek Priesthood that is an alternative to the Aaronic Priesthood, and which actually supplants the Aaronic Priesthood””. ** Wrong! - This is a reverse twist right from the start – This makes it sound as though the Aaronic/Levitical Priesthood was the original – This is error! The Melkizedeq Priesthood was the original (Gen.14 / Ex.19:5-6) - The Book of the Covenant made the Firstborn of ALL Israel a nation of Melkizedeq Priests. They broke the Covenant in just about 40 days. They defiled themselves and were no longer eligible to be a Melkizedeq Priest Nation. In lieu of complete annihilation (Ex.32:10) – YHWH granted them to be a nation with Levitical Priests from one tribe (Num.3:12). The Heb.7:12 change of The Priesthood is the New Covenant reversion back to the original Melkizedeq Priesthood. There is a HUGE difference between being a Nation of Priests and being a Nation with Priests. ++ “”The gist of this teaching is that the Melchizadek Priesthood is an order of priests which overrides the Aaronic Priesthood, thus nullifying all or parts of the Mosaic Torah, which is only rooted in the inferior, obsolete Aaronic Priesthood””. ** This statement ignores the fact that the original Melkizedeq Priesthood was/is YHWHs 1st chioce; His PlanA and is superior to (Heb.7:7) His reluctant (Ex.32:10) Levitical/Aaronic Priesthood PlanB permissive fix (Num.3:12, 18:1 – Ezk.20:25 / Heb.7:11-12) That did add (Gal.3:19 / Heb.9:10) “not good” laws (Dt.31:9-30, Ezk.20:24-25) because of disobedience. ++ “”This doctrine comes from a misunderstanding of the phrase “A priest forever after the order of Melchizadek.”” ** Which James Scott Trimm has misunderstood from the start of this article ++ “”Part of the problem is that in English we hear order and we think of an order of monks or nuns, and so some read of a priesthood after the order of Melchizadek and they think it is some Order of Priests””. ** ... dabar can mean and is taken to mean a variety of definitions. These definitions are peppered through out; crossing and intersecting the words dibrah, devrahti, dibrathi or dibrati and dabar. The word dabar means by implication a matter; properly to arrange; cause, commandment, confer, decree, duty, effect, oracle, task, appoint, bid, command, declare, give, name, promise and pronounce. The dabar definition “properly to arrange” is of particular interest for this includes the idea of order or to order – which can both mean – to place an order (a request), give an order (a command), or to set things (or persons) in order (arrange) as in a grouping (collective, class, neighborhood) or in a succession of (including sequential). It is of interest that the word promise includes the idea of oath or covenant which are either spoken or written with words i.e. dabar / dabarim – devarim. As is clear to see the definitions of dibrati include; similar, “properly to arrange” (order), ideas, word of , manner of, likeness of, according to analogy, resemblance, category, class, rank or similitude (like as). ++ “”In fact this is not what the Hebrew phrase indicates. The Hebrew word translated order is DIVRA and the word for after is AL (a very ambiguous preposition which most often means about or concerning but can also have many other meanings like above or over or against etc. . DIVRA means literally cause or reason and the phrase AL DIVRA could literally be translated after the reason/cause” of Melchizadek that is to say A priest for the same reason as Melchizadek. How was Melchizadek a Priest without being a Levite? Simple, he recieved the priesthood before it was limited to Levites only. Messiah was a priest forever for the same reason as Melchizadek, like Melchizadek, Messiah receive the priesthood BEFORE it was restricted to Levites only””. ** By James Scott Trimms own admission - “How was Melchizadek a Priest without being a Levite? Simple, he received the priesthood before it was limited to Levites only.” - He; James Scott Trimm clumsily proves his earlier statement an error; proving what I have said; “YHWHs 1st chioce; His PlanA is superior to (Heb.7:7) His reluctant (Ex.32:10) Levitical Priesthood PlanB permissive fix (Num.3:12, 18:1 – Ezk.20:25 / Heb.7:11-12)” to be correct. In addition Trimms statement - “he recieved the priesthood before *it* was limited to Levites only” leads everyone to conclude that the Levites some how got the Melkizedeq Priesthood anyway. This couldnt be further from the truth. ++ “”I would add that Heb. 7:24 calls this an unchangeable priesthood. The Hebrew text of Hebrews says here שלא תתום לעולם “that shall not ever end” the Aramaic reads לא עבדא “does not pass” and which the Greek renders απαραβατον “non transferable”. In other words this priesthood is unchangeable in that it is held by Messiah forever and can not be passed or transferred from one person to another””. ** Another selective twist by James Scott Trimm - Heb 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Why? “because he continues forever” !!! - Yahshua will continue as the Melkizedeq High Priest who has called us back into the renewed original PlanA Melkizedeq Priesthood (1Ptr.2:9 / Rev.5:10 – Ex.19:5-6) Doesnt it only make sense that if you were going to be High Priest that would presuppose a number of lower priests to be Higher than? ++ “”So what then, does Kefa mean when he says that we are “a Kingdom of Priests” (1Kefa 2:9)? Is this not a reference to a New Testament Melchizadek priesthood? Absolutely not, in fact Kefa is referring to statements made about the people of Israel in the Tanak (Ex. 19:6 & Is. 61:6). The nation of Israel was always a kingdom of Priests, even in so-called “Old Testament” times. This is not a reference to a special “New Testament” Melchizadek Priesthood””. ** Quote James Scott Trimm - “The nation of Israel was always a kingdom of Priests, even in so-called “Old Testament” times” - - This my friends is a straight up Lie! Num 3:12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel **instead** of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine; “**instead** of” is a change / a replacement of – Not along with or in some supposed co-equal tandem to - The nation of Israel *was* to be a kingdom/nation of Priests – IF- they kept the Covenant (Ex.19:5-6) – They did Not (Ex.32) ! – They then became a nation with Priests from 1 Tribe just as Num 3:12 says! So then to correct James Scott Trimms other lie “This is not a reference to a special “New Testament” Melchizadek Priesthood” - 1Ptr.2:9 (1Ptr.2:5, Rev.1:6, 5:10) most certainly IS! And just for awareness sake Isa 61:1; 6 / Lk 4:18 is to all Israel – This is a Messianic Melkizedeq reform prophesy statement to all Israel and converts. ++ “”The High Priesthood could be transferred from one High Priest to another, but the priesthood that Messiah had by the same reason as Melchizadek (i.e. that he had from BEFORE ... Aaronic Priests) was not like the High Priesthood of Aaron in that it was non-transferable, it was Messiahs and only Messiahs forever. The Messiah is the only one to hold the Melchizadek priesthood today””. ** James Scott Trimm is mixing his own metaphors - 1st he says “The High Priesthood could be transferred from one High Priest to another” Referencing to 1 Levitical/Aaronic High Priest to another – obviously this did not include the regular grunt Lower Levitical Priests. Then 2nd he says ~“but the priesthood that Messiah had by the same reason as Melchizadek (i.e. that he had from BEFORE the time of the Aaronic Priests) was not like the High Priesthood of Aaron in that it was non-transferable, it was Messiahs and only Messiahs forever.” ~ Why??? Heb 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Why? “because he continues forever” !!! 3rd He says - “The Messiah is the only one to hold the Melchizadek priesthood today.” Then 1Ptr.2:5; 9-10 “You are” Present tense & You have been called” - Past tense / 2000yrs ago is a lie! The only truth about this above statement is that Yahshua is the only Melkizedeq High Priest and will be in everlasting. ++ “”HaSatan wishes to steal and to kill and to destroy (Jn. 10:10) and he knows the time is short and has stepped up his war with those who proclaim both Torah Observance and Faith in Messiah (the two pillars of Nazarene Judaism) (Rev. 12:12, 17; 13:7). But no weapon forged against us will prosper (Is. 54:17)””. ** James Scott Trimm finally got 1 mostly correct - Isa 54:17 again is to all Israel and commonwealth converts. Torah Observance and Faith in Yahshua Messiah are the two pillars of the Commonwealth of Israel plus Converts (Eph.2:11-12; 19). HaSatan does wish to steal and to kill and to destroy and is doing so thru ones like James Scott Trimm who is so Levitical Minded in his errors, lies, twisted half truth and pretzel theology – That he himself doesnt even discern what he is trying to export to you. ** James Scott Trimm in addition touts “Nazarene JUDAISM” that pretty much exposes his position doesn’t it? Along with a myriad of others touting Hebrew this or Messianic that. This Salvation does include the Jews BUT is Not limited to them. It includes all Israel, the Commonwealth of Israel plus Converts who become the Commonwealth of Israel!!! Not 2nd class Gentile Torah-Bible Fans ** We need to develop fully equipped Melkizedeq disciples instead of a version of ill-equipped ‘ain’ts’. Rom.10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of ‘God’, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of Yah’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of Yah. All of us are to go on to Yah’s Spiritual Maturity; (Note, these are Yahshua’s words) Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of Yah, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. - - Remember a version at best is a counterfeit Did you notice the 2 phrases? – ‘the righteousness of Yah’, ‘the kingdom of Yah, and his righteousness’. ‘kingdom’ in Hebrew is ‘Malakah’, YHWH is the King or ‘Melek’ and ‘righteousness’ is ‘Zedek or in other words in Hebrew – Melkizedeq We are being called back into Yah’s Plan ‘A’ 1st choice Melkizedeq Priesthood (Heb.7:12); 1Ptr.2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (Compare to Ex.19:5-6) - - This is our 1st, Best & only choice! Notice ‘a royal priesthood’ or a Kingly/Melek Priesthood ie the Melkizedeq Priesthood. Remember Yahshua was a Jew and like most of Israel & all of us could never be a Levitical Priest.
