The Power Lines running through East Dracut, Pelham, and Tewskbury may be upgraded if Northeast Utilities gets its way. The utilities are looking to ship more power to Boston, which is not all bad because the lines could eventually send less-polluting power generated with wind or through hydroelectric dams. As with the Kinder Morgan pipeline, the power line upgrade faces a competing proposal, in this case a proposed underseas transmission line from Maine to Boston. According to the Town Crier in Tewksbury, only one of these power line upgrades would be built.
