The President said this at a town hall meeting last week for Spanish speaking media when a viewer challenged the economics of it for low-income Americans now forced to buy health insurance the president responded that - - - -“if you looked at their cable bill, their telephone, their cell phone bill… it may turn out that, it’s just they haven’t prioritized health care.” He added that if a family member gets sick, the father “will wish he had paid that $300 a month. Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative said of Obama’s remarks, “If the president actually believes that a family earning less than $40,000 per year can afford nearly $4,000 in health insurance premiums, then he truly does not understand middle-income families. Americans do not need the President to tell them how to budget their households. People are already cutting back on things like cable television and cell phones, just to compensate for an awful economy. This president promised he would deliver on affordable health care. Instead, premiums are up, out-of-pocket expenses are up, and overall cost of living is up. The president simply doesn’t get it. And his condescending attitude adds insult to injury.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The problem is that this man goes around talking about income inequality while having lavish 6 figure parties, many multi-million dollar vacations, inviting celebrities to spend the night in the White House, and has the gall to lecture low income Americans that they just dont know how to spend their own money and arent putting enough money into his program that has created more red tape and bureauocratic involvement, and increased costs dramatically for most people. All the while he is a proponent of vast numbers of wasteful programs and federal government spending that do nothing to help improve the economy and create jobs (other than in Washington). The President himself needs to prioritize things a bit before he criticizes low income Americans. They dont get million dollar book deals, private jets, and homes and a lifestyle provided by donors and taxpayers.
