The Prophet Isaiah s Messiah The fulfillment of prophecy is one - TopicsExpress

The Prophet Isaiah s Messiah The fulfillment of prophecy is one of the strongest proofs that the Bible is inspired by God and that Jesus is the Christ , the Son of God . The New Testament quotes and apply more texts from the book of Isaiah than any other Old Testament prophet . In fact , Isaiah is often referred to as the messianic prophet because of his many prophecies that are fulfilled in Christ specifically . And he wrote these prophecies more than 700 years before the birth of Jesus . The eternal purpose of God was described as a mystery yet to be fully revealed ( Colossians 1:26-27 ) . There was a mystery in the sense of being unknown by God , because he decided that his project of redemption resided in Christ before the foundation of the world ( Ephesians 1:4 ) . But it was a mystery simply because men sought what time or what manner indicated by the Spirit of Christ which was in them , when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ , and the glories that would follow ( 1 Peter 1:11 ) . When the prophets spoke of the coming Messiah , made many specific predictions showing that their message was from God , not from man. Moreover , when specific predictions are fulfilled , there is no doubt the veracity that Jesus is the Christ . Who could have imagined ? S C 7:14 The virgin shall conceive and bear a son , and will call him Immanuel ( Fulfillment: Matthew 1:18-23 ) . S C 8:14 ... He will stone of stumbling and a rock of offense ( Fulfillment: Romans 9:31-33 ) . S C 28:16 Behold, I lay in Zion a stone , tried stone , a precious stone , angular , firmly seated ( Length: 1 Peter 2:6-8 , 1 Corinthians 3:11) . S C 22:22 I will put on his shoulder the key of the house of David ( Length: Revelation 3:7 , Luke 1:31-33 ) . C 35:5,6 S will be opened blind eyes ( Achievement : Matthew 11:5 ) . S C 53:5,6 By His stripes we are healed ( Length: 1 Peter 2:24-25 ) . C 53:9 S They made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death ( Achievement : Matthew 27:57-60 ) . 53:12 S C was numbered with the transgressors ( Achievement : Mark 15:27-28 ) . S C 25:8 He will swallow up death forever ( Fulfillment: Luke 24 , 1 Corinthians 15:54 ) . Challenge for Unbelievers Should be asked to every Jew who claims to believe in Isaiah as a prophet of God , but denies that Jesus is the Messiah , that explains Isaiah 53 . Whom the prophet was speaking only of Jesus ? Over the centuries , the Jews who rejected Jesus did not seek a savior sufferer , but Isaiah clearly describes a Messiah who would be sacrificed for our sins . As we read Isaiah 53 , we should be led to cry with gratitude to better understand Gods love manifested in the gift of his Son . Isaiah prophesied saying it would be very disfigured , more than any other ... ( Isaiah 52:14 ) . When we reflect on some of the atrocities of war of our day , this statement may seem questionable at first sight. But when we recall his life on earth from beginning to end , do not put in doubt the outrages suffered by the Son of God went beyond what any other man has ever suffered . He had no form nor comeliness ( Isaiah 53:2 ) . This is not just your physical appearance , because the New Testament tells us nothing about that. But he left the glory which He had with the Father for a life without nothing that usually attracts people to follow someone, how wealth and political prominence . From Nazareth can any good thing come out ? ( John 1:46 ) . He is despised and rejected of men ( Isaiah 53:3 ) . Not even his own people received him ( John 1:11 ) . The cross was not the first attempt to kill him . The Jewish authorities tried several times but could not kill him until his time came (John 12:23-28 ) . Was a man of sorrows ( Isaiah 53:3-4 ) . He wept over Jerusalem , so hid his face from him . On the night he was betrayed , he said as his soul was deeply saddened ( Matthew 26:36-41 ) . By oppressive judgment was taken away ( Isaiah 53:8 ) . Sought false witnesses ; three times Pilate declared his innocence; and even the thief on the cross said : This has done nothing wrong . The beautiful song of Phillip Paul Bliss expresses very well the praise we should render to think of the divine plan of redemption . Man of Sorrows ; what name For the Son of God who came down , To rescue the ruined sinners ! Hallelujah ! What a Savior ! Supporting the cruel shame and scorn , Was condemned in my place , Sealed my pardon with his blood ; Hallelujah ! What a Savior ! We , guilty , vile and unresolved ; He , the Lamb of God without blemish ; Full atonement . Is it possible ? Hallelujah ! What a Savior ! When we come into our glorious King , For his redeemed to take home , Sing the same song again : Hallelujah ! What a Savior !
