The Quick review of Sci-Fi/Fantasy Books Ive read over 4 or above stars in 2013: Divergent 4.5/5- Must read strong young female heroine similar to Hunger Games, has margaret atwood similarities, but ultimately I dont find the heroine to be as charismatic as katniss), and falters on book 3 (like hunger games). Wearing the Cape 4/5 (young female heroine, finds super hero powers (but not much depth except being super smart). Confessions of a D-List Super Villian (5/5 -- Actually humorous). Off to be the wizard 5/5 (young male hero, funny). Under the dome (3.9999/5- typical stephen king, but not on the level of the gunslinger). The handmaiden (5/5 - classic-level allegory with female heroine). Ex-Heros series 4/5 (SuperHeroes meet Zombies). Ready Player One (5.5/5 -- Amazing world-- amazing protagonist). Cryptonomican 5/5 - Must read for geeks. Predicts bitcoins. Even has code samples. Snow-crash 5/5 I liked it better than neuromancer. Old Mans War 5/5 (influential, amazing). Starship troopers 5/5 (influential). Jumper, Reflex series 4.5/5 (writing is average at best-- but the ideas are sweet). Wool 6/5 (works on so many levels). The Circle 5.5/5 (amazing book on just too much metrics, and the lack of privacy). 11/22/63 - Stephen King, way better than under the dome. Pathfinder and Gate Thief 5.5/5 (Im actually befuddled as to how I can hate an authors personal beliefs at the same time I love all his books)
