The RSPCA does not support breed specific legislation. We do not believe that any dog should be judged based on its appearance or breed. BSL will not protect the community from dangerous dogs. Instead, innocent family pets will continue to fall victim to this legislation. In 2011, the RSPCA wrote a letter to the Hon Peter Walsh expressing our concerns about BSL. Today, we have sent another letter to Minister Walsh outlining our views on this issue and asking that he work to amend the legislation. To view both of these letters, please visit the link below.
