South Africa will forget us when we’re gone. Although to me her memory lingers on. Through sights and sounds and smells and tastes, and endless notes and digital takes, She’s forged a vibrant image in my mind – Of the cradle she has been for all mankind. She has spawned her great characters and tales. From the San of the sands – to the current form she hales. We’ve read of the treks and seen their effects and heard of her heroes too; as Kruger, Smuts, Mandela – and Shaka are given their due. But the poignant part that seared my heart, is the will that the people uphold To take their milieu and, with all of their souls, to render their rainbow whole.
