The Ramirez Family 2013 Family Reunion is almost upon us once again!!! If you haven’t already, mark your calendars for Sunday, September 1st - Labor Day weekend, this is about 1 month and 2 weeks away!! So far the plans for this year’s reunion include pinatas, bingo (with a family twist), cake walk, raffle tickets for prizes, karaoke and music! And yes of course, the good ole horseshoes, volleyball or kickball tournaments and other fun things!! Due to a new City Ordinance, the hill is off limits and we not be able to slide down the hill. We are looking for ideas for the kids to help keep them occupied. So if you have any ideas, please let us know. Anybody with balloon making skills, face painting skills, etc. Please contact one of us and volunteer your time. Remember!! The reunion event is a B.Y.O.F. (food), B.Y.O.C. (chairs), B.Y.O.D. (drinks)…..sharing is always encouraged and promoted A website has been created for family photos, questions and other information. Kudos and a BIG “GRACIAS” to the Behrens Family (Jeff, Sonia, Tevin & Jake) for hosting and putting the site together! Check it out at familyreuniononline.net I’m told that there’s still plenty of room for additional photos, so send your family pics to the email link listed on the website! We are asking for a $20 dues per household. This is not a required entry fee, so please don’t feel that you can’t attend the reunion if you don’t pay. I know some you are on a fixed income, so whatever donation you can give will help. Whatever dues you can give helps, $5, $10 or $15. Please make checks /Money order payable to: Catherine Ramirez or Augustin Ramirez. This helps with supplies for children and park activities, so please get those funds coming in. Time is getting shorter and supplies are needed!!! Volunteers are needed for everything from set up to tear down, maintaining the bathrooms and everything in between. Donations for the raffle, the cake walk and pinatas are also needed. If you can’t get items to us, call one of us and we’ll come to you. So far there has been very little participation and involvement in the planning of the Ramirez Family Reunion, but we can pull it together with the time that remains – c’mon and no matter what we will all have a great time!!! Our next meeting is set for Sunday, July 28th, 2013 at 6:30 pm at the Taco Cabana on I-35 and Seminary. There is always room for additional Ramirez Reunion Committee members. For those of you who need T-shirts, please contact Rita Vasquez and let her know what size you will need. We need to get these ordered asap so we can have them back in plenty of time to get them sorted and to you before the reunion. The prices are as follows: $7.00 up to XL and $10 for XXL and larger. The cut off time for ordering T-shirts will be August 14th. Remember, the reunions were started by the father of the Ramirez bothers and sisters. Agustin G. Ramirez, so we can get to know one another. This is a great opportunity to get to share the memories of those who have left us and for the new additions to get to know us. So please, pitch in with what you can so we can keep this going for years to come.
