The Real State of Things... And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12 In his Greek-English Lexicon, Thayer defines the word used here as iniquity (anomia) as: 1. properly, “the condition of one without law — either because ignorant of it, or because violating it”. 2. “contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness Iniquity is lawlessness. Iniquity is the state of one without a law or who is a law unto himself/herself. The world today is full of people like this... They start with, “ I think that...”, “My idea about this is...” It is always what they feel or think not what God’s law and word says. This is the sin. For it is written that: Every one who commits sin commits also lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.1 John 3:4 Iniquity, this state of lawlessness, attacks the love of God. This is the rampart wickedness trying to water down every standard of God even to the point of secuilarising the church of God. The purpose? Clearly, the purpose is to cause the love of God to wax cold. The love of God here is agape. Agape is not found in the world. Really by Agape, (John 13:34) men know that God is in a place, the display of it shows that that one belongs to God. Hence, this is actually the “waxing cold” or “cooling down” of the Christ life. The word used here is the Greek word psychō meaning, “to breathe, blow, cool by blowing”;“to be made or to grow cool or cold”. Many ‘Christians’ have been made to ‘cool’ down and they do not consider what is happening. The love for the Lord is waning daily because of this iniquity abounding, increasingly being allowed in our lives! This is a Wake Up call to you and I who name the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ to wake up! Begin to raise the standard of God’s Word to where is should be in your life. Know that Jesus is LORD. He is Master and Owner. He has given us a commandment to love as He loved and to stand as He stood and to speak as He spoke and not be afraid of the terror or opinions of men in this world system. Child of God! You are in the world but not of the world! The world loves his own but you are not his own you belong to Another and Greater is He that is in you than he that is in this world! Remember and do not forget that THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD HAS BEEN CONDENMED! THE WORLD IS PASSING AWAY AND EVERYTHING THAT IT HAS TO OFFER BUT YOU REMAIN FOREVER... If and only if you will keep the standard of God and hate iniquity. Remain encouraged... There are still many of us...
