The Red Apple Project reports that Midway ISD uses 49% of its revenue in the classroom. The Governor of Texas has asked schools to use set a target of 65% of their revenue for the classroom. This is how I intend to help students and teachers by correcting this glaring problem. Taxpayer money needs to be spent inside the classroom not on lavish catered dinners at the administration building and massive bloated administrative salaries like the Superintendent himself who will rake in nearly $200,000 this year. I would eliminate unnecessary administrative positions like the Public Relations director, and task the Superintendent with the job of Public Relations. Lowering the Superintendents salary on his next contract and eliminating the propaganda directors position would save the district close to a quarter of a million dollars a year.
