The Red Hook Crit has a history full of intensely competitive riders who have made their mark on the race without necessarily stepping on the top step on the podium. To celebrate this, Rockstar Games has developed the Top Antagonist award for the rider, who without consideration to their final position, most effects the race through a combination of tactics, aggressiveness, and sheer strength. Rockstar Games will award this trophy and a prize of 150€. Examples of past riders who demonstrated “Top Antagonist” performances: Kyle Murphy, with his field splitting attack last year in Barcelona that shed some big favorites and formed the final lead group. Kyle Perry, with his incredibly aggressive ride at the RHC Brooklyn No. 7 where he spent more time on the front than any other rider, tenaciously attacking and chasing down moves. Evan Murphy at the RHC Milano No. 3. He crashed on the first lap and fought back to win the race with his own blood dripping down his leg. Stefan Vis at the RHC Milano No. 4. He qualified near the back of the field and clawed his way back to finish 7th. Daniel Chabanov, demolishing the field with a race-long solo breakaway at the RHC Brooklyn No. 5 David Trimble at the inaugural Red Hook Crit. He attacked from the gun winning both primes and finishing 2nd. *The winner of this award will be selected by a group of judges at the discretion of the race organization.
