The Rev. Albert Fannin of Stickney put on his Robe of Righteousness on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, ending his pain and suffering, and gained His reward in Heaven. Albert was born June 29, 1922, to the late William and Arpa Fannin of Montgomery. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jenny; daughter, Faye; three brothers, Huck, Melvin and George; and one sister, Susan Fish. He is survived by his wife, Geanie of Stickney; son, Freddie and wife, Pam, of Loudendale, who was his pride and joy; daughters, Janet Mack and husband, Roy, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, Patsy Stone of Mason and Polly Lanham and husband, Donald, of Cedar Grove; stepchildren, Jamie Pennington of Mammoth, Buster Pennington of Braxton County, Mary Carter of Clear Fork, Pricilla Raines of Stickney and Timothy Pennington of Twin Poplar; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Albert is also survived by three beautiful sisters, Pauline Graham of Charleston, Alberta Fannin, who resides at Golden LivingCenter, Glasgow, and Katherine Biggs of Haiku, Hawaii. Albert was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for around 60 years. During this time, he was pastor at Notomine, Giles, Deepwater, Blue Creek, Laurel Fork and Logan. He had many jobs, but his most important one was working for the Lord and helping others. This was his greatest passion in life. He also had a gift to play most any instrument, and loved to sing the praises of Jesus. He also served his country in the U.S. Army in England, France and Germany, which he served proudly. He worked for Valley Camp Coal Co. for 47-and-a-half years and retired in 1990. It has been really hard to see our dad go down. He was always a hard worker and the most patient man we ever knew. No matter what anyone would do to him, he never said a word. He was our rock and our strength, and taught us so many, many things. We will never forget the love, faith and happiness he brought not only to his family, but to anyone who met him. He will truly be missed. We love you, Dad. The family would also like to thank CAMC 5 West staff at Memorial, ICU and Hospice for taking such good care of our dad. Service wil be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 600 Old Fort St., Cedar Grove, with the Rev. Donald Lanham and Pastor Bonita Jedlicka officiating. Burial will follow the service at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.
