The Rev. Dr. Billy Graham, Americas pastor/Global Evangelist, turns 95 next month (Nov. 7). A major celebration is planned next month for the 95th birthday of the Rev. Dr. Billy Graham. About 600 and 700 people have been invited to the 7 November party in Asheville, N.C. Invitees include President Bill Clinton, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and real estate mogul Donald Trump. Billy Graham was a pioneer in the use of media for evangelistic purposes. He has reached out to over 2.2 billion people, with over 3.2 million people accepting Jesus Christ as their personal saviour. He has been called Americas pastor, chaplain to the White House who has ministered to presidents since Harry Truman in 1947. Sixty years ago he prayed, “I’m going to allow faith to go beyond my intellectual questions and doubts, and I will believe this to be Your inspired Word.” Sixty years ago, during his first sermon under the tent in Los Angeles, he thundered, “God Almighty is going to bring judgment upon this city unless people repent and believe—unless God sends an old-fashioned, heaven-sent, Holy Ghost revival.” He punctuated the end of every description of what ailed America with the refrain, “We need revival!” God heard his pleas.
