The Rooms has been honoured by the Canadian Museums Association with an Award of Outstanding Achievement in Exhibitions. The national awards recognize exceptional museum projects in a variety of categories, including conservation, education, exhibitions, facility development and design. In July 2013, The Rooms opened two museum exhibitions: From this Place: Our Lives on Land and Sea; and Here, We Made a Home. These exhibits explore the province’s history and cultures from 1760 to present day. The Rooms is this provinces largest cultural institution. The award was presented recently in Toronto.
