The Sabbath is more than just a day of rest. The Sabbath commandment empowers the entire law as it is embodied with the authority of the Lawgiver and His jurisdiction. The Sabbath, in a sense, is a symbol of the character of God as embodied in the law. And it is the character of God that attracts the believer. It acknowledges righteousness by faith if rightly entertained, which implies obedience in all things.
