The Saint Augustine who was sent by the Pope to Evangelize the pagan Germanic invaders (proto English) to an already Christian country was asked to gather the Christian brotherhood i.e.the Welsh(Britons) to help convert them. He was refused help by the Welsh because of his arrogant attitude, but he is not the famous Saint Augustine renowned for his work in North Africa; the first is not universally known, the second is.
