The Salvation Circle If you think about, there is something - TopicsExpress

The Salvation Circle If you think about, there is something markedly circular about redemption in the Bible. It all kicks off in one place and it all ends up in that same place. Here’s my attempt at outlining the ‘Salvation Circle’. Step #1: The Father sends the Son. The New Testament proclaims that the Father sent the Son to earth in order to redeem fallen humanity. Jesus was the Father’s chosen means to bring His lost creation to eternal life. God sent His only begotten Son to save all those that believe in Him (John 3:16). Step #2: The Father sends the Spirit to the Son. Not only did the Father send the Son but He also sent the Spirit to accompany Christ throughout His earthly life and ministry. Jesus wasnt just publically anointed by the Spirit in the Jordan River but He was also birthed into the world by the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon Mary (Luke 1:35). Jesus’ passion, crucifixion and subsequent resurrection were all accomplished in the power of the Spirit. step #3: The Spirit leads men to the Son. Following Jesus’ ascension to heaven, the Holy Spirit descended powerfully on the Day of Pentecost to empower the church with its supreme task of witnessing to Christ (Acts 1:8). From that day forth and ever since, the Spirit has strove to bring men and women into the Kingdom of God by convicting them of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Spirit points the way to Jesus as the perfect channel of forgiveness. Step #4: The Son leads men to the Father. Once the Spirit of Christ takes up residence within a man (woman), a new cry is birthed in their heart, namely, “Abba, Father!” Jesus, then, by the presence of His Spirit, leads every child of God directly to the throne of grace. As it is written, “Behold I and the children which God has given me” (Hebrews 2:13). The Son has lost none of those whom the Father gave to Him. Conclusion So there you have it. The Father sends the Son and the Spirit to a broken world. And in return, that broken world is led back to the Father via the selfsame Son and Spirit. Every regenerate soul is caught up in this beautiful dynamic of God’s great love wherein nothing is static and dead, but all is life, fullness and glory! What a joy to be found in this great circle of divine life!
