The San Jose Giants fell behind by six runs after 2 1/2 innings and could not recover en route to a 6-2 series-opening loss to the Visalia Rawhide on Thursday evening at Municipal Stadium. San Jose allowed a season-high 16 hits in the defeat as the Giants lost for the eighth time in their last ten games. San Francisco Giant Brandon Belt finished 1-for-3 with a single and a hit by pitch in the first game of his rehabilitation assignment with San Jose.
