The Senate just failed to successfully get get confirmation of Debo Adegbiles appointment to a very controversial post in the Justice Department. The Democrats only needed 51 votes based on the new rules of the Senate. Vice President Biden was present and presiding so he would be available to break the tie if it came to that. It still didnt pass. Pay attention folks. Only seven democrat Senators voted against the appointment. Senator Begich was not one of the seven. He voted to APPROVE him. Again, PAY ATTENTION!!! Elections have consequences!!! Know the issues and know all about the candidate you can BEFORE you vote!!! The coming November elections will be critical to the future of our nation. YOUR vote counts and makes a difference. I intend to talk to each candidate running against Begich and only AFTER getting my questions answered make up my mind as to who is the best candidate to not only beat Begich, but also will be the best for our country going forward. Dont just believe what they put out for political spin. Check them all out and know everything you can before you vote. Even if the candidate does not represent 100% of what you would like to see representing you, still VOTE!!!! If you dont, you will get someone that votes against the values that you want to see represented either most or all of the time. To stay home and not vote leads to the situation we currently find ourself in!! So does voting without knowing where the candidates stand. Some of them will try to only tell you what you want to hear to get your vote. Do your homework. It is your responsibility as a citizen of this country. Pray for our country and vote according to what it is going to take to return this great country to what it needs to be. We need to take this country back one Senator and one Representative at a time. It is going to take each one of us to be involved. NO sitting on the sidelines. We are each responsible for where we let our representatives take the country! They will not listen to you as an individual after they are elected. The ONLY opportunity you have to be heard as an individual is with your VOTE. Remember that!!! Be sure the lobbyists representing special interests will have such a very high level of pressure on them after they are elected that you need to make sure you vote for one that is most likely to stay true to what represents YOUR values. Make SURE the candidate represents most of YOUR values. You probably not going to find one that represents ALL of your values. Go with the one the comes the closest on the Important issues. It will still be better than having someone casting votes and making decisions in congress that represents few or none of your values!! I have rambled long enough but I feel strongly about this. I made the almost fatal mistake of accepting a surgeon that I did not properly vet. It has cost me dearly and I will pay that price for the rest of my life. The same needs to apply to each of us as a nation if we are to survive. We are each responsible to do our homework and be responsible!!!
