The Seniors kick off their festival season this weekend at the Dandenong Ranges One Act Play Festival (gemcoplayers.org/one-act-plays/) This year we have three offerings for the circuit: Saturday 4pm Session: Locked - Justine has spent the whole first term strategically ignoring the man of her dreams, Jimmy. When the end-of-term party is going to be held at his house she knows the time is right to strike. Her best friend, Bella, comes along not so much for moral support, but more to have a few drinks and watch her best friend crash and burn. But neither of them could guess what would happen when they wind up in Janes room by mistake. Bella - Helen Kitching Justine - Kaity Russell Jane - Katie Karandais 7pm Session: Hopping the Bags - Three men try to make sense of what defies all logic and common sense: life on the Western Front in World War 1. Daniel - Alexander Ferguson Rob - Bruce Hardie Les - Andrew Proy Sunday 5pm Session: Kill A Better Mousetrap - Miles Edward Merbinau has somehow inherited the film rights to the world’s longest running play, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. Unfortunately, due to a legal technicality, he can’t do anything with them until the original London production of the play closes… which hardly seems imminent. After several ‘peaceable’ efforts to close the play backfire on him, Merbinau is now determined to borrow a leaf from Dame Agatha’s own works… murder! Merbinau - Bruce Hardie The Analyst - Sarah Morris Playgoer - Katie Karandais Mr McLelland - Alex Mavor-Rauschl We wish all groups competing this weekend all the very best and we look forward to toasting your success and sharing lots of laughs along the way :)
