The Service of Celebration of Harrys life was two weeks ago today. Today is another perfect summer day. Harrys kind of day. I would like to begin posting stories that were shared at the Celebration and favorite quotes of Harrys that were read, including any you didnt get to share that day. I would be grateful if those of you who shared a story then or would like to share a story would either write it and send it to me to post or call or let me call you and tell me your story over the phone so I can write it down and post it. My email is deverta@hotmail. Ill send my phone number if you ask me. Ive been feeling let down since the Celebration, feeling sad and helpless because some hacker erased many of Harrys pictures, especially those with girls, even one with me at Rockefeller Center and the daily Missing in Mexico X number of days posted by Martha Tutasaura whose pictures saw me through some of my toughest times. Theres a lot I dont understand in life. Why anyone would do such a thing is at the top of my list just below why anyone would wish and do Harry harm. I ask whoever the hacker is, Please, as a personal favor to me, Please do not do that ever again, and Please, if you have saved those photos, Please create an anonymous email address and send them to me. I ask any of you who have copies of photos you know are missing to send them to me so I can re-post them. I want more memories of Harry. To have less hurts more than you can know. Now, to begin the stories shared at the Celebration, here are memories shared by Harrys friend, Joe K, who made our lives rich not just by sharing these stories of his and Harrys great friendship, but by clearly telling me the kind of service Harry wanted and by bringing enough Patron to share with all who wanted a shot after they had shared a Harry story or quote, just as Harry said he wished would happen, Joe, whose wife marched straight over to give him a hug and kiss to sustain him when she saw her man overcome by his emotion. Joe needed that and did fine thereafter. Love is alive in the world! How I wish you all have such a Love in your own lives as you Live your Life! and Love your Life! With my own love to you all, Ann, Harrys grateful Mom Thank you, Joe K, for this: Last year around this time I was having a drink with Harry in my back yard ... I had just come back from a wake and was venting to him how I did not like how the process goes ... He could not have agreed more ... People come, say a quick prayer, spend so much money on flowers and then get caught up in conversation with someone they have not seen in a while ... I am guilty of this myself ...Harry and I got into a conversation about what we each would want ... He told me that when the day came for him he would want people to come up, say a prayer , rip a shot of tequila and share their favorite Harry story with anyone who would listen ... Who woulda thought it would be one year later ... We all know Harry was a Special person. -- I know a lot of people here grew up with “H Ballz” since kindergarden, some even younger ... I have been blessed in life and have the privilege to have known Harry for 11 years now ... 2 of those years we practically lived together in West Palm Beach, same building, one floor apart ... We were young, I was 23 , he was 22, 2 kids from NY. We both drove a black Lincoln LS. He had the V8 engine and automatic windshield wipers and whenever we were in my car and it started to rain, he always reminded me that he never had to turn on his wipers ... We were both stock traders, had everything in common and we partied a LOT. Recently Ann had asked me for some of my stories about Harry to post on facebook and to be published in a magazine ... I was in a jam because most of the stories I have with Harry are from those days and those stories just can NOT be published in a magazine or posted on fb! ... I can say we started Many Many nights on Clematis Street in West Palm, Bradleys in particular, that many of those nights ended up in Miami ... Hitting up the Space sunrise party every Sunday morning was my overall favorite time with Harry ... It had a 24-hour liquor license , the sun was always out and we would go nutz to the music we loved ... After Space we would hit up Nikki Beach , crash either at the beach or on a daybed and then somehow make it out to Pearl that night ... Thank you, Harry, for always getting us back to our trading desks just in time for the opening bell. For those that dont know that would be 9:29 am cause the market opened up at 9:30 ... That means we would always leave Miami by 8 am no matter how much fun we were having because there was no way we would miss a trading day ... Crazy part is, is that we really thought that was normal at the time ... Amazing times, my brother! Harry loved sports ... He did not know I played tennis in college and thought he would own me on the court ... We went to go play one day and in warm–ups I popped my strings ... He was like Damn, Joe! I was looking forward to kicking ur ass! ... I said Oh, really?! ... How about we play till 21 , loser has to jump in the Intercoastal fully dressed , shoes and all. ... He took me up on that challenge. I beat him 21 - 16 ... Harry, a man of his word , jumped into the Intercoastal ... I can hear his soaking wet shoes squish-squashing as we walked back to our building with him shaking his head. ... How about the time they evacuated Palm Beach Island because of a hurricane ... Harry, myself and a buddy of ours, Brian, thought it would be kool to go play football on Ocean Drive ... Besides CNN , we were the only people there ... We made the front page of the local newspaper there and Harry was interviewed by the CNN reporters ... As they were interviewing him I was launching whatever I could get my hands on, branches, garbage cans, at him from behind the camera guy. It was hysterical as he was trying to dodge whatever was being thrown at him. It made for great TV coverage. Harry, thank you for those memories ... They are absolutely priceless ... I knew Harry was special from the day I met him. As the years went on, events happened that just confirmed he was special, like passing through a town in India and being asked to be in a wedding party ... Just Look Around , Harry was very special to all of us ... Even though I knew how special he was , it absolutely amazed me when I went to his fundraiser back in February ... Only Harry can pull off what I saw there ... A table completely full of ex - girlfriends all being cordial to one another ... Now THAT is SPECIAL! We all dream ... Harry and I used to dream about traveling the world and day trading from wherever we were and how kool that would be ... Well , you did it, Brother ... You lived out your dream ... Not too many people get to say that ... In closing ... Harry got a job last April at the same company my wife worked for... It was a 6-month gig . He was saving up for his last trip ... Within weeks of first starting the job, he managed to develop a new culture at a firm that had already been in business for 9 years ... Thats pretty kool ... There was a day where my wife needed a ride home from work , I asked him to drive her home and he said “Of course.” ... My wife asked Harry to stay for dinner... If you know Harry , you know that he never turned down a shot or a meal ... When they got home, they were greeted by my kids , the older one in particular running up to him saying “Uncle Harry!” with a huge hug ... Harry had dinner that night with my wife and my 2 kids ... When I got home , they had finished eating and the kids went to bed. Harry and I had a drink on my back porch ... He looked at me and said That was awesome . I said “What was awesome?” ... He said “That dinner , coming home to your kids / wife . I am ready for that life ...” I said Harry, I am in bed every night by 9:30 pm and family life is not for everyone. … A guy that travels the world for fun , on no time schedule , telling me that that was awesome was very touching ... But I can see for the first time since I had known Harry that he was ready... He WAS ready for that family life ... Harry ... You were an awesome wingman, an amazing friend, my brother from another mother and you were a sick bastard ... You would have been an amazing Dad, and a one- of-a-kind husband... Harry was only 32 years old , but he had the wisdom and experiences in life that most people do not get to achieve in their lifetime. I am going to miss you buddy ... Nothing but Love ...
