The Shoreline Stabilization Project consisted of two phases: - TopicsExpress

The Shoreline Stabilization Project consisted of two phases: Dredge sand from the north beach of North Point Marina and transport that sand to the south beach or the south end of the marina where it will be dumped and pushed into what is called the “Feeder Beach” ; the next phase consists of extending the underwater reef one hundred feet south, and restoring the revetment stone along the south beach another one hundred feet. The first phase, dredging the north beach and hauling that sand to the south beach was completed in June. Approximately 36,000 cubic yards of sand was dredged and moved to the south end of the marina. The north beach or sometimes called the “Dog Beach” is open to the public. The second phase of the project is still a work in progress. Installation of the extended underwater reef is complete but the shoreline revetment work continues. Shoreline revetment work includes quarry stone of various sizes and 4-ton stone armor. The contractor estimates that the project should be substantially completed by October 16. Punch list items will be addressed by the contractor after October 16. My guess is, the south beach area will be open to pedestrian traffic after November 1 - North Point Marina
