The Spirit of Truth John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. Our Lord Jesus says that anyone who has the Spirit of truth in him or her will both know the truth and live the truth. The Holy Spirit will teach, correct and guide them into the truth. He will speak to believers concerning sin, the righteousness of Christ and the judgement of evil in order to conform us to Christ and His standard of righteousness (John 16:8-11). The Holy Spirit therefore works in believers to produce in us the holy life of Christ. If anyone who says he or she is a believer but is proud, unforgiving, self willed, immoral etc and fails to conform to the God’s righteous standards, then it is either that person has never been saved (that is born again) or he has rejected the Holy Spirit’s guidance and convicting work and has not through the Spirit mortify (put to death) the deeds of the body (flesh) [Romans 8:13]. The Spirit of God has thus departed from that person and according to 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 … “They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” Most unfortunately many people in today’s church (including bishops, pastors, apostles etc) fall into this latter category. We can now see why messages from most pulpits are filled with philosophies of men, counterfeit miracles and deliverances, riches and wealth, elevation of men instead of our Lord Jesus Christ and many more that do nothing to uplift the soul but rather the tickling of fancy or emotional euphoria. Many pulpits have been turned into circus: a platform for showing off oratory skills and other like vices. Most people, no doubt prefer these ungodly messages. No wonder many of these churches are filled to the brim and yet there are no visible righteous lifestyles. Although all that is happening in today’s church is painful to most God fearing believers, nevertheless these events are fulfilling scriptures. The Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing.” Do you have the Spirit of truth in you? If you do, you will preach the truth, teach the truth and practice the truth. Otherwise you will teach, preach and practice falsehood (or at best half truths). If you have the Spirit of truth (Holy Spirit) you will not sit under a minister who preaches and teaches messages that do not profit your soul. Brethren the reminded that “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” I beseech you to repent and forsake your sins so as to enjoy a time of refreshing with the Lord. Have your totally surrendered your life unto the Lord Jesus Christ and made Him your Lord and personal Saviour? If not, then take the following steps of faith in order to be saved and receive strength to serve Him. A – Admit that you are a sinner (Rom 3:23) B – Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is able to save you from your sins and sins’ problems (Mathew 1:21) C – Confess your sins and invite the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour (Romans 10:9-10) D – Depart from doing evil and live a righteous life in Christ Jesus (Titus 2:11-14) I will like to invite you to a conference that comes up on Friday 2nd - Sunday 4th August 2013.
