The State of the Worlds Rivers is an interactive web database that illustrates data on ecological health in the world’s 50 major river basins. Indicators of ecosystem health are grouped into three categories: • River Fragmentation • Biodiversity • Water Quality Navigating the Database To start navigating the interactive database, first select one of the fourteen indicators you seek to visualize. As you hover over the indicator name, the right panel will show detailed information about each indicator, including a list of data sources and a discussion of our methodology. The 50 Major River Basins Used in this Database The maps include data in several basins where International Rivers currently works, including the Congo, the Amazon, and the Mekong basins.
