The Surprising Gift of Love! This is a season where some people allow the amount of money they have to limit their giving to others. Our humility of kindness towards another person will not only encourage them, but will also last longer than the “tangibles” that fades away. Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? Jesus taught us to serve by washing the disciple’s feet. He also taught us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35 (NIV) The idea of giving an unexpected gift of service to other people demonstrates Christ-like love and service. You might consider giving a back rub to your spouse, running an errand for your brother, or cleaning out a closet for your mother, sharing a meal with someone less fortunate than you. Make it personal and meaningful and watch the blessings multiply. Blessings and the riches of heaven is not what is in your hands, but what is found in your heart!
