The Tampa Bay Juniors USPHL teams played 4 close games at the Palm Beach Hawks over the weekend. On Saturday, the Empire team dropped a 5-4 overtime game to the Hawks. Brandon Goudreau scored twice, Liam McCune and Kastle Birch also scored for the Juniors, who got 32 saves from Jake Cuthbertson. Tampa Bay was 0-for-5 on the power play, 5-of-5 on the penalty kill. Also on Saturday, the Juniors Elite team lost to the Hawks 6-5 in a shootout. Tommy Whitely scored twice, David Cross, Ryan Mattson and Harry Kaladzhyan scored as well for Tampa Bay, while Nick Malvin made 49 saves. The Juniors were 0-for-3 on the power play and 3-of-4 on the penalty kill. On Sunday, the Empire team lost to the Hawks 3-2. Trey Stern and Marty Friedrich scored goals, Theo Woodbury made 28 saves. Tampa Bay was 1-for-3 on the power play and 6-of-6 on the penalty kill. The Juniors Elite team won on Sunday, beating the Hawks 6-5. Drake Stimpson, Nikita Zagryadskiy, Nathaiel Hans, Richard Foy and Brenden Rogers scored goals in regulation, Paul Lochner netter the winner 11 seconds into overtime. George McLeod made 42 saves for Tampa Bay and the Juniors were 0-for-5 on the power play and 5 -of-5 on the penalty kill. The Juniors are on home ice this Saturday, taking on the Florida Eels.
