The Tennessee Titans. Going into the season, the AFC South was supposed to be a battle between the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans for divisional supremacy. Someone forgot to tell the Tennessee Titans that. Through three games, the team from Music City is 2-1 despite the fact that Jake Locker is under center. The 2011 first round draft pick has not yet materialized into anything close to resembling a franchise quarterback, and his play is holding back what could be an explosive offense. Instead, the Titans rank a paltry 30th in the NFL in passing yards with just 176 per game. Locker has only tossed three touchdown passes while completing under 60 percent of his passes thus far in 2013. With nothing more than a game manager leading the offense, the talents of running back Chris Johnson have been kept in check by opponents, who have held the Titan offense to just 20 points per game so far. The team would be losing if it weren’t for the strong defensive play it has had in its first three games. Giving up just 56 points in three weeks is no easy task in today’s NFL, and is a major reason for the team’s early successes. A switch to Brett Favre, who could step in and quickly have at least a moderate grasp of an offense given his experience with four NFL teams during his career could quickly open up the playbook. As Cook put it, ”He made the game exciting to watch. He was going to throw it to somebody. It may not be who it was supposed to be, but somebody. And he just loved to play football.” At 44, there is almost no chance we see Brett Favre play again, but Tennessee would potentially be a nice suitor should Favre get the itch to lace up his cleats once again.
