"The Texas Health Insurance Pool (THIP), a state-run high risk pool for Texans who are otherwise uninsurable (because of pre-existing conditions), has notified its clients that THIP will be shutting down at the end of the year, since The Affordable Care Act will allow these folks to buy better, and much less expensive insurance in the exchange, starting next week. Let me repeat that: an agency of the State of Texas is telling hard-to-insure Texans that the ACA will give them a better deal, and is actively helping and encouraging them to find out how to sign up".
