The Tim Murray Jazz Trio returns to Barns Farms & Wicked Chefs in the Main Barn Loft on August 23, 2014!!!! ticketsplease.ca Tims group reflects the history of 60 years of jazz, playing beloved standards as well as more contemporary tunes. Cool, swingin, mellow, lyrical, it is the perfect accompaniment to a summers afternoon in the country. Now a resident of Perth, Tim first performed piano professionally with bassist Sol Gunner at Lisgar High School in Ottawa. As a medical student at Queens, Tim played a wide range of gigs and wrote the score for the musical “Jeri”. The group has maintained a remarkable musical friendship and evolution throughout their lives and into retirement. After their careers in various centres in North America, the original quintet members were featured at 50th anniversary Queens reunion events in 2012. They have played 3 times at NACs 4th stage and produced 2 recent CDs including original compositions by Charley Gordon. Their story is told on a DVD on YouTube entitled “The Tim Murray Quintet: 50 Years of Jazz”.
