The True Identity of Failure. I think theres an issue with the identity of failure. We see failure as anything that was not desired, intended, or planned in advance. Children who dont go to college? Failures. Businesses that dont succeed? Failures. A relationship or marriage that ends before death knocks at your door? Failure. But none of these are truly failure, just something not being what everyone expects. As a society we need to accept people for being people, for being different, strange, abnormal, and having a different life goal. Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes, once said that Ambition is only understood if its to rise to the top of some imaginary ladder of success and that describes current popular ideologies precisely. I dont believe that there is a set formula for a happy life. Part of the journey is discovering who you are, truly. Once more, Ill quote Bill Watterson, To invent your own lifes meaning is not easy, but its still allowed, and I think youll be happier for the trouble Have a good week everyone.
