The Tuesday Morning hikers went to Panthertown Valley this week. There were five of us today.Bob and Lynn Dobson,Cindi Hansen, Alicia Morris and me along with the Dobsons little dog Annie. We started at the Cold Mt. trailhead and then went to Schoolhouse Falls, which was roaring due to the recent rain.We then climbed Little Green Mt. to sit on the rocks and have lunch.I decided at the last minute to continue down the other side of Little Green which we did and intersected with the Macs Gap Trail heading towards Granny Burrells Falls. From there we intersected the Panthertown Valley Trail back toward Cold Mt. The day started out cold and windy, but soon the temps warmed up and so did we.Little Green is quite a pull even though it is not very long. The Panthertown Valley trail was basically a wade since we had so much rain the day before.Parts of the trail were literally huge ponds. We even saw salamander eggs in several of them.At one point Lynn almost stepped on a snake which was crossing the trail.I am not sure what kind of snake it was, but I do know it was not poisonous and it was very eager to get out of our way. We finally got back to the bridge over Greenland Creek and headed back up to the car. A beautiful day with some great views and shared with great friends. What more can one ask for?
