The U.S. Congress held a vote back in 2006 that did irreparable harm to one of the most functional institutes of our government. The Republican Congress — acting at the behest of the Bush-Cheney administration — enacted a law that required the postal service to “pre-fund” retiree health benefits seventy-five years into the future. NO corporation has ever been asked to shoulder such insane financial burdens and Americans had no idea this was even happening. The GOPteas ultimate goal is to PRIVATIZE the U.S. Postal Service. Opening post offices in Staples stores, with your local teenagers pretending to be postal clerks is one of their most blatant (and unconstitutional) moves toward that vulture capitalism plot. Please CALL the U.S. Capitol Switchboard and tell your elected officials to STOP PLAYING GAMES with the Post Office! Heres the phone number: (202) 224-3121 crooksandliars/2014/04/post-office-was-targeted-bain-capital (and please share this important call to action) You may also find this very informative and eye-opening video from the postal carriers, of particular interest: youtu.be/cgXpdEUfXP8
