The U.S. European Command (EUCOM) area of responsibility force protection condition will be raised beginning tomorrow morning, Oct. 16, at all military installations. The increased force protection posture will last through the afternoon of Oct. 17. This elevated posture is not in response to a specific threat, but is due to force protection concerns throughout the EUCOM area of responsibility. The increased force protection posture is intended to test everyones readiness in the case of an emergency. In addition to this demonstration and validation of force protection measures, it is vital that every member of our European community remain vigilant and aware, and report suspicious activity to local officials. Specific force protection measures should never be discussed online or social media.
