The U.S House of Representatives Interior Appropriations Subcommittee cuts $71 million from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This brings funding of the NEA down to $75 million, a level not seen since 1974! NEA received $138m in 2013. Obama wanted an increase it for 2014 $154m. They cut it to $75m. Another terrible day for the arts and the visual arts who only receive a fraction of that money anyway.
