The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has announced a political dialogue initiative to bring together some of Libyas most influential actors to settle long-divisive issues ahead of the North African countrys parliamentary elections scheduled for June 25, Farhan Haq, the deputy UN spokesman, told reporters. The announcement came as the UN human rights arm expressed deepening concern over the violence plaguing the east of the country, particularly the city of Benghazi.
