The UP League of Agricultural Biotechnology Students (UP LABS) President Jayvee Rosal and Ad-hoc Advocacy Head Joshua Israel Sumague along with UPLB Institute of Plant Breeding (UPLB-IPB), UPLB Crop Protection Cluster (UPLB-CPC), and Asian Farmers Regional Network (ASFARNET) Philippine Chapter have been invited by Angat Ahon Magsasaka Inc.., a sub-sectoral group of farmers irrigators, artisan fisherfolk, coconut farmers, fruit & vegetable, rice & corn, in a Press Conference about the UPLB-Bt Talong Project held on November 6, 2013 at The Sulo Riviera Hotel which was entitlted: Ang Tanong: Ano ang Bt Talong. The first ever Press conference for Bt Talong aims to inform the national media of Bt Talong as an alternative choice to help empower the farmers to maximize the potentials of their land to increase their yield, decrease their dependence on harmful chemical pesticides which might cause serious hazards to their health; and in turn, increasing their income life which helps improves their lives in the long run.
