The US Gooberment has NO money of its own. Every dime they spend - TopicsExpress

The US Gooberment has NO money of its own. Every dime they spend on anything was originally yours and every other Americans money. The reality is money is an illusion. Unlike money in the distant past todays money has no value whatsoever. At least no more value than you give it. Lets imagine you provided a service, labor or a product and your customer gave you a simple piece of paper with $1 written on one side. That isnt money. Its a promissory note or IOU. American money isnt worth as much, and certainly no more, than the piece of paper you now hold. Now lets imagine you provide a service, product or work for a customer and that customer gives you a new pair of jeans or maybe two or three sacks of vegetables. In this exchange you have received something of actual value equal to the amount as you and your customer previously agreed. Because it isnt a piece of paper its difficult to imagine the goods received as money. It isnt cash or coin but it actually has greater value than paper of a round of some copper filled metal. It is more valuable than money. Money is an illusion. Its value lies in its ability to exchange it for products you actually need or want. If there is nobody accepting your paper in trade for items of value it is worthless. Only items of value exchanged for other items of value can be considered currency or money. Because our currency is not backed by anything of value, our currency is not currency. It is an illusion. Its one reason we now have free trade instead of fair trade. In a fair trade system our currency would be worthless. Free trade says any nation can dump as much of their trinkets and do-dads on the US as they want as long as theyll allow us to sell something in their nation. Fair trade on the other hand demands the trade be balanced and fair. Not a chance of that happening as long as our currency is an illusion that nobody really trusts. And yet it is the global currency in the petroleum market. For the time being anyway. thinking out loud ...
