The US and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization see the ethnic Russian population of East Ukraine as an obstacle to their deployment — on the edge of the Russian border — of Nato military bases and missile “defense” systems for the encirclement of Russia. It is clear that the US and Nato will stop at nothing to attain this objective, using their puppet government in Kiev to provoke Moscow (and hope for some decisive victories) or to entrap it in a long-drawn-out war with their Kiev proxies to sap Russia’s strength and launch a “color revolt” within it to oust Vladimir Putin, replacing him with a more compliant leader. As the support of US and Nato populations are needed for Western Ukraine’s offensive against Russia, Western media (which RP media follow) conduct blatant news blackouts on Kiev’s daily bombardment and murder of East Ukraine civilians; publish patent lies about the culpability of Ukrainian rebels in the MH17 air disaster, which was actually Kiev’s “false flag” operation to demonize Russia and its East Ukraine kin; publicize heavily US-scripted personal attacks by Western leaders against Putin to vilify the Russian leader; and repeat false reports of Russian troops entering East Ukraine. tribune.net.ph/commentary/asia-and-rp-s-stake-in-ukraine 24 November 2014
