The US needs to stop talking and acting like a poor man. It is unbecoming and indeed a lie that no one is buying. People around the world see it as crying all the way to the bank. The US has debt because for whatever reason it refuses to raise its tax base to pay it. Indeed, the US is a 14 trillion dollar economy that has made a huge number of its citizen’s rich- about time they play their share and raise the damn minimum wage I am sick of all these Walmart workers on food stamps. The national debt is only 60% GDP, when the accounting takes away self-loans (barrowing from some programs and leaving IOUs). Normal people incur much deeper debt when they purchase a home (usually 2.5x personnel GDP- income).
