The US (with a population of more than 313.9 million) does not have a Department for Youth and Sports. However, it has institutions that successfully manage sports such basketball, hockey, baseball and tennis. Ghana (with a population of more than 25.37 million) has a Ministry of Youth and Sports. There is basically nothing concrete for youth development. The least said about how it manages its main sport (soccer), the better. This is beyond politics. President Mahama must prove that he is really in charge. Ineptitude, criminal collusion and mismanagement should not be tolerated in the Ghanaian republic. People should be fired and, if criminality is found, prosecuted. This should not be too difficult for the Presidency.
