The USA - made of slime mould! Cities are marked with clusters of oats and the mould is allowed to spread across the map on its own. According to researchers in the UK, when allowed to choose their own paths they actually mimic actual road systems as they seek out the path of least resistance - and the paths chosen by the mould could even help make mobile-communication and transportation networks hardier.
